Here’s what she sees on the horizon for 2025, so grab a cuppa and settle in…

Styling Trends to Watch in 2025

What new styling trends do you see becoming popular in 2025 for home textiles and interior design?

"Texture, texture, and more texture! As we all become more aware of the natural world and our impact on it, nature continues to inspire design. I’m particularly drawn to organic textures, think the patterns of erosion, wood grains, stone, and shells. There’s so much beauty to be found, and I can’t wait to translate these textures into our textiles."

Are there any emerging movements in interior design that excite you for the coming year?

"Natural and organic patterns are a perfect fit for interiors and layering them in one space feels fresh and exciting. Colour is always my starting point, and for 2025, earthy and natural tones will take centre stage. These colours are subtle, easy to pair with creams and neutrals, and bring a little bit of the outside in."

Customer Tastes and Fabric Finishes

How do you think customer tastes are shifting in terms of textures, fabrics, or materials?

"We’re proud to be a B Corp , and our commitment to responsible sourcing continues to grow. Customers want bedding that’s not only beautiful and luxurious but also kind to the planet. Natural fibres are in demand, and here at Secret Linen Store, we’re still smitten with 100% linen—it feels amazing and looks effortlessly stylish. We’ve got lots of exciting new additions to our linen collection coming, including plenty of stripes and those wonderful, ‘sludgy’ colours we love."

What types of fabric finishes or patterns do you predict will resonate in 2025?

"Alongside our much-loved relaxed linen, jacquard sateen is making a strong comeback. Our Birdie design , with its sophisticated floral and bird trail, has been such a hit that we’re expanding it into even more colours. It’s smooth, refined, and timeless—perfect for those who want a different look from the casual elegance of linen."

The Colours of 2025

Are there specific colour palettes you anticipate being particularly popular in 2025?

"Earthy tones will continue to lead the way. Every palette we design starts with nature—fallen leaves, park walks, the seashore. For 2025, we’re leaving behind the bright pops of cobalt and hot pink from 2024 and embracing warm, grounding hues instead."

How do you see colour choices shifting across the seasons in 2025?

"I don’t think we’ll see a dramatic shift throughout the year. Earthy, dark palettes will dominate, with lighter layers and patterns added for spring and summer. Creams and naturals will remain our go-to neutrals, and whites will make an appearance in spring to lift things. For autumn, expect warmth through off-whites and rich earthy tones."

Trends to Leave Behind in 2024

Are there any 2024 trends you think might not carry forward into 2025?

"Brights and pops of colour are fading away. While trends feel subtler these days, looking back, it’s clear how much has changed. Hot pink and cobalt are stepping aside for earthy tones and softer palettes."

Are there any design approaches or styles you think will lose popularity?

"The romantic trend of 2024—frills, embroidery, and flounce—will stick around but in a more pared-back way. Think refined rather than over-the-top, with embroidery in soft colours and frills with more finesse."

Sustainability in Home Styling

What responsible trends or practices do you see gaining traction next year?

"As a B Corp, we’re committed to responsible sourcing. This year, we became GOTS certified, which means we can create organic products with full traceability from farm to bed. It’s not about trends but about lasting changes that make a difference—better working conditions, healthier soil, and chemical-free production. We’re excited to keep spreading the word about why organic cotton is better for everyone."

How can people make more sustainable choices in their home styling in 2025?

" Sustainability isn’t about changing your style; it’s about how things are made. Choose businesses with shared values—B Corps, for example—and trust that they’ve done the hard work to create something that looks good and does good. Every purchase is a vote for the kind of world we want to live in."

Molly’s Personal Favourites for 2025

What trends are you personally excited about?

"Right now, I’m loving browns and sludgy greens. We’ve been dressing tables as well as beds this year, and it’s been such a joy. Adding a simple napkin to every meal feels so special—it’s a little thing that makes a big difference."

Are there any timeless themes you’re holding onto?

" Gingham ! It’s been around since the 17th century, and I don’t see it going anywhere. Its nostalgic charm and versatility make it a design classic. I hope it stays forever."

2025 looks set to be a year of earthy tones, natural textures, and thoughtful choices and there’s so much to be excited about. As Molly says, trends may come and go, but timeless quality and responsible practices are always in style.
