Repaired & Cared
At our Secret Linen Store, we have a mission is to minimize textile waste, shrink our environmental footprint, and champion a circular economy. Through our carefully considered end-of-life strategy, we prioritize three areas – caring, repairing, and repurposing.
We are excited to announce that we have partnered with The Seam to provide a door-to-door homeware care & repair service.
Our customers now have the option to repair any signs of wear and tear from years of cozy sleep, helping to extend the life of their favourite items.
But that's not all - The Seam also offers personalisation.
Whether you want to monogram your 100% linen pyjamas, add festive embroidery to your Nigel Napkins, or customise the Bailey Baby Blanket with your little one's name, the possibilities are endless.
Need something to fit your space better? The Seam provides alterations for most textiles like curtains and bed linens, tailoring them perfectly to your home.
What Is The Seam?
The Seam connects you with local, vetted Makers who can repair and alter your items. Sending your item directly to your chosen specialist.
How It Works
1. Choose your service
Head to The Seam’s portal and answer your questions to see what service best suits your needs.
2. Find a Specialist
They will match you with the best Maker for the job at hand.
3. Book the Project
You’ll hear from your chosen specialist in 48hours, and can send your items by post.
The Seam works with Makers located throughout the UK. When you book an alteration, they will aim to connect you with a local Maker whenever possible, so you have the option for a home visit. For repair services, or if no local Maker is available, you'll be matched with a remote Maker, and they’ll arrange courier or postal services for you.
Once your item is repaired/altered, it will be returned to you, ready to be loved and used again and again.

FAQs
How does The Seam work?
Click on Booking Portal here, you’ll be asked some questions about your item(s), and they’ll match you to the best Maker for your project. You'll be prompted to create an account or sign in if you have one already.
You'll hear from your Maker within 48 hours and can choose to send your item(s) by post, courier, visit a local studio or have your Maker visit your home for a consultation
You can always keep track of your bookings by logging into The Seam and clicking on 'My Projects'.
How will my item be collected and delivered?
There are three options for pick-up and collection. You can meet your Maker in person, send your items by Royal Mail or book a convenient courier collection when you pay for your order.
If you choose to have your Maker visit you for a consultation, they will charge a £15 per hour travel fee.
Please note, services which require home consultations (alterations) are currently only available in London, and other select cities where a nearby Maker is available. All other services are available UK-wide, via post.
How much will it cost?
Every project is uniquely priced; however you can see a link to the Guide prices here.
How does The Seam's service fee work?
The price set by our Makers for each project is the amount of money they earn for each project. On top of the Maker's price, we apply a 20% service fee to protect each booking and offer customer support.
How do I add something to my order once it’s been placed?
You can contact your Maker at any point throughout the booking process to discuss and request changes. If you are booking for multiple items, we recommend making an additional booking for each item.
Where possible, we'll aim to match you with a single Maker. However, to always ensure your items are worked on with specialist skills, we often need to match you with different Makers for different services (for example, tailoring and invisible knitwear repair all require different specialists).
How long will it take?
Our standard service turnaround time is 10 days. We will always let you know if a project is going to take longer than this to complete. If you need an item completed by a certain date please let us know at the beginning of your booking.
I’m not happy with my project, what do I do?
We’re sorry to hear you’re not happy with your project. Please contact us at support@theseam.uk and our team will get back to you within 24 hours.
