To make your bed linen lovely and clean without compromising its dreamy softness, opt for a cool, gentle wash with a mild detergent. 30C to 40C is perfect. Oh, and don’t forget to separate your whites and colours.
For more cleaning advice, see our bed linen laundry guide.
There’s no point in buying one of our beautiful bed linen sets if it doesn’t fit your duvet, mattress, and pillows.
Our bed linen ranges from single to emperor-size bedding. There are also three pillowcase sizes to choose from - standard, large square, and super king.
For our complete range of sizes in all our different bed linen products, see our bed linen size guide.
The term 'bed linen' refers to all manner of soft bedtime bits, and we offer all of it here at our Secret Linen Store. We have duvet covers and pillowcases, plus fitted and flat sheets to choose from. You could also include valances in that list, and yes, we have those too.
Whilst we offer fitted sheets, flat sheets, and valances in a wonderfully wide range of colours and fabrics, please note that they might not be available to match every bed linen range.
There are two materials we absolutely adore for bed linen: linen, of course, and cotton. Cotton is breathable, hypoallergenic, soft and low maintenance. Plus, it’s fab in all weathers as the heat absorption keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter.
Linen bedding is brilliant for keeping you at a comfy temperature. It’s also very moisture-wicking and textured. Best of all, it gets softer and softer over time.
We have a blog comparing these two materials to help you understand each one better. We also have bedding made from a wonderful cotton and linen blend, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.
If you’re storing your bed linen away, you should first make sure it’s clean and dry so that no nasties are left lingering. You should then place the linen somewhere dry and breathable to avoid smelly mildew.
For the freshest and sweetest-smelling bed linen, we recommend changing your sheets weekly. Once every two weeks is also perfectly good unless the nights have been particularly hot or you share the bed with a pet.
All of our bed linen is made lovingly in our factories in Portugal and the UK. We've been working with the same factories for over 25 years, making them part of our journey. We are proud of the standards to which they work, which is reflected in the quality of our bed linen sets.
