Sleeping in the heat can be tricky, but our tips can help.
Aside from switching to one of our summer duvets, you should also make sure that you’re sleeping in breathable bedding like linen and cotton. You can also:
- Keep your curtains closed during the day to keep the heat out.
- Wear lightweight sleepwear in breathable materials.
- For those extra hot nights, a cold compress can help.
Our summer sleep guide has even more nuggets of wisdom when it comes to getting forty winks on warmer nights.
What is the best summer duvet?
There are plenty of fabulous filling options when it comes to lightweight summer duvets.
Down duvets, including goose down and duck down, are wonderfully breathable as air flows freely between the downy fibres. Or, if you prefer, we offer synthetic alternatives. Our hollowfibre duvets have, you guessed it, hollow fibres for amazing air circulation.
We also have microfibre duvets which use super smart cooling technology. Our Keep Me Cool duvet has Climarelle® Cool technology, with microcapsules that have both cooling and warming abilities.
What tog is best for a summer duvet?
Tog stands for thermal overall grade, and it’s a measure of how toasty and snug your duvet is. That means a lower tog is best for summer.
A 4.5 tog should be just right for most summer nights, but if you’re a particularly hot sleeper, a 2.5 tog duvet could be your ticket to a cool snooze.
Our duvet tog guide can explain further, so you can choose the absolute best duvet for every season.
